Drugstore Chrsitmas Makeup Look + Giveaway

Yay! it’s my first and last *lol* christmas post for this year on the blog,! And essence just send me a package of their new winter limited edition “Winter Glow” at no better timing 🙂 Instead of doing a traditional first impression review, I’m going to do a christmas/winter makeup look using what they send me and other drugstore products.

And since I didn’t prepare a giant giveaway like most bloggers…I’m giving away part of the limited edition and other cool stuff that I purchased myself. So,see what you can win and enter at the end of this post ♥

This look is all about a flawless velvet complexion with soft but glittering eyes and easy to wear gradient matte red lips, gradient so you don’t have to worry about your lipstick smudging during the night 😉

As you can see,the Catrice HD Liquid Coverage Foundation did a fantastic job at evening out my skin tone and smoothing out any little bumps, the claim being an HD Ready Foundation is definitely true.It sets into a velvet, semi matte finish,so I didn’t use any powder on top.I would recommend this foundation to oily/combination skin,If you have dry skin, this foundation will most likely accentuate any dry patches.I just really wish they would bring out more shades,4 is just not enough.

As for my highlight today,I used the eyeshadow base from the Winter Glow collection and it’s amazing for it.It just gives you the prettiest glow without being too metallic.I haven’t tried it on my eye lids yet but the consistency is really runny. So,I would probably continue to use this as a liquid highlighter 🙂

COMPLEXION

Maybelline Fit Me! Concealer in “20”

Catrice HD Liquid Coverage Foundation “20 Rose Beige”

Sleek Cream Contour Kit “Medium”

Essence Glitter In The Air Strobing Blush “01 When in doubt add glitter”

Essence Winter Glow Illuminating eyeshadow base ” 01 Turn all the lights on” as Highlighter

For the eyes I kept it super simple with only 2 earth toned glittery shadows, which is so hard to capture with camera.

The loose pigment from the winter glow LE is what I used on my entire mobile lid,it’s simply gorgeous. The colour is a warm champagne shade with iridescent shimmer, and when applied wet it turns into a metallic rosegold color.

The rest of the eye makeup is easy,I used colourpop’s Brady as my transition shade in the crease, darkend my outer V with a warm chocolate shade that has gold shimmer and lined my eyes as close to my lashline as possible, then popped on some super natural lashes to complete the look.

Pardon me for not blending in my brow pencil properly T-T

BROWS

Alverde Transparent Brow Gel

EYES

P2 Impressice Gel Kajal in ” 20 dramatic brown”

Catrice Intensif’eye shadow “20 Charly’s Chocolate Factory”

Essence Winter Glow loose eyeshadow “03 Gleaming in the winter sun”

L’oréal Super Liner Ultra Sharp Eyeliner

KISS looks so natural lashes “Iconic”

As for the lips,I chose to do a gradient effect,so you don’t have to check yourself in the mirror every 10 minutes.

About the cushion powder lipstick.I have mixed feelings.I like the concept, doing a gadient lips was never this easy for me and the staying power is phenomenal since it stains your lips.

But the sponge applicator is not picking up enough powder,so you have to dip your sponge back in 3 to 4  times per application, which is not that hygienic. And if you have the tiniest amount of dead skin on your lips,it’s gonna make it look 10 times worse that it already is.I guess that’s why they included a lipscrub in the collection?

LIPS

Essence Winter Glow Cusion Powder Lipstick “02 Winter Kissed”

I had a lot of fun doing this look,it’s easy to wear, not overly complicated yet makes you look polished and dolled up for the evening. And the best thing,it’s done with drugstore products only!I’m still amazed at how good they have become over the years.I will definitely try to come up with more drugstore only looks, since they are more challenging.

A big thank you to Essence for sending me their new limited edition and inspire me to do this blog post!Make sure to have a look when the collection is out in January.

The translucent fixing powder with snow flake prints is another highlight in this collection for me.It’s so so adorable!I assume it’s the same formula of their famous translucent powder. But I will giveaway mine to you guys.Because I love you so much ♥

And of course I wish you ,your family and friends merry christmas and thank you for showing me so much love during the past few months on this blog ♥
